Happiness is Learning!
My last post was a struggle….yeah! One drawback to a regular blog is my limited knowledge of the technicalities in handling computer-related matters, like: what to click, what next to do, where to find what! I’m not the researcher-type, I welcome being taught so I can directly do what’s to be done, not to surf through – that’s too time-consuming! In fact, this is one reason I “stumbled”, in which it took me more than three months to be up – and back! I have put up a blog site, and was able to post, with the help of my daughter – much thanks to Cy.
Why then am I in the internet, what brought me here? You might be surprised, the mom is a civil engineer, conducting computer-aided seminars on Structural Analysis and Design, and on Construction Project Management for practicing engineers, since way back 1991 yet. In fact, having computers with us in the family during our children’s college years greatly influenced their choice of the jobs they are enjoying now, which may have veered from the professions they are licensed to practice. Such are the cases of Cy (ideasnpink/essential tidbits),Ty (techXplore), and Dy (blue apron/rainydazeee). With the work I have been into, cyberspace was just a click away – that’s how I began – and I was into chatting and exchanging emails with my children in Thailand (who were then studying their Masteral, and eventually working, in AIT). It started then with these simple activities in the pc. However, to be maintaining a website/blogsite is for me too complicated!
Yet, I’m fascinated with sharing, and hopefully having blog friends, exchanging hi’s and hello’s, comments, sharings, whatever. That’s what made me decide to ride on the blog wagon, and to brave the odds! I console myself with the assistance of my “techie brood”, and the fact that it’s just difficult in the beginning, gradually I will learn. And so it happened last Thursday, the day before Cy arrived, in which she was not around to help me. Instead, it was the cute “buntet”, Dy,
in far-away Prague who taught me with the links, and how happy - ahhh “exultant” should be the word! – I was to be able to link on my own! Also notice, I posted twice (the last two previous entries) unassisted! I have considered these a feat – being able to post and knowing how to link! These are easy things for most of you maybe, but for me, they are already blessings to thank God for. And here are “thank you” hugs and kisses to my helpful and generous children
.
Why am I sharing this here? For I imagine, I may not be alone with such inadequacies, doubts and “baby-steps” problems, and so this will encourage and give the necessary lift for those in the same boat. Sure! There’s joy in learning! Another point is: we can learn from each other, never mind if you are very much younger than us, parents, such as our children! And youth (even of other moms out there), you are also welcome to this site, you might be able to pick up some nuggets of a mom’s wisdom
