An Impromptu Sunday-at-the-beach, continued
So off we went. Aside from the three (with the dad and Cy) of us in the family, we brought along our “kasambahay”* and a young sister in the community to share the fun. As we were traveling, the sudden idea came – to spend our lunch with the waft of sea breeze in a beach just outside the city proper. Along the way, we completed our food, as per plan, though the place was unplanned. We were so thankful and praised God for the spur-of-the-moment beach outing which we enjoyed so much even in a very common setting! Ordinary can be great, yeah?
We welcomed the fresh air and the not-so-sunny climate which made barefoot strolling on the sand a sheer delight. And we didn’t lack food stuff to nibble, as vendors were around to offer peanuts, lanzones, oranges, and a lot more. Oh, by the way, an unexpected extra treat for us at lunchtime was talaba** (or sisi?) – shells slightly boiled, which is a delicacy. This was an add-on blessing to thank for: that it was available there, and the more we enjoyed our lunch!
Nap time followed, and each of us chose a place to stretch. Cy and myself got the seats of our cottage, but there were many available in the cottages around for the others. Ahhh lying on that bamboo bench caressed by the gentle wind from the sea, lulled by the soft rhythmic sound of the waves – I couldn’t ask for more! If this could only be often, I mused.
Three o’clock! And it was time to go. Our next destination was the mall.
