Birthday Greetings!!!

I’d like to dedicate this post to my Big Sis Leony – a carefree, adventurous person, who has survived the unpredictability of life with thumbs up and a big grin. Today, November 6, is her birthday.

Eversince I can remember, when we were yet growing up together, she was always there, doing the housework for all of us, at times when we would have no house help. Most often she washed the clothes, cooked, and even sewed. I looked up to her as the super girl of the family. When I was in Grade VI, I remember my project in sewing (Home Economics subject) was done by her, and you bet, I have never learned to sew using a sewing machine. Neither have I learned cooking some native delicacies, which we always depended on her to do. When she went off to Cebu to study college ahead of me, I missed the ever-ready helping hand she’d always extend.

There were times when we’d quarrel, when she would tease me especially with my posture, as she wanted me to change for the better. I could not have checked myself if not for her constant reminders, though I resented the correction at that time.

These and many more have added to the fond memories of our childhood. Now, she is living in far Hawaai with her family, and enjoying life with a job of her choice. Though a B. S. Commerce graduate, majoring in management, at her age she said, she doesn’t anymore like to balance books nor to handle bigger responsibilities with people under her, as this would just be too stressful. She likes to entertain customers and talk to people, so she is in sales. As you can see her in her pic, do you agree with me she doesn’t look her age? Well, she’s my Big Sis, and I’m proud of her! We the younger siblings are very thankful for her thoughtfulness and generosity. During our birthdays and other special occasions, we almost always receive tokens of thoughtfulness, though she lives across the miles!

Thank You Heavenly Father for giving me this wonderful sister, my beloved Insi Leony!

Here’s wishing you a Blessed, Happy Seventy-First Birthday, my dearest, long-missed Sis! May the Lord God continue to bless you abundantly, with His protection, provision, wisdom, good health, and with much love and care from all in the family!
