Obtaining our Visas: Faith in action! Part 1

Last month on a Monday of this date, my hubby and I submitted our visa applications. Our flight would be on the 17th (a Saturday). As I stated in my post ( the lighter side), there is a minimum of ten working days requirement for visa processing (which could run up to 30 days), and as we submitted May 5, our tenth day would be Friday, the 16th. This would be a real problem as the visa section of the Czech embassy is open only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The release should be by Thursday (May 15), or else we could not take the Saturday (May 17) flight. During that application interview, I had to explain to the consul, who called me to the side window, the circumstances behind: we just received our travel invitations Friday (May 2), and we had to be boarded on the same flight as our daughter as it would not be possible for her to travel alone with an 8-month-old baby. She replied, we can try, it depends on how fast you can give us these additional required documents (she gave me two).

The staff at the counter, upon receipt of all our application documents, said: “Be fast in submitting the consul’s requirements, counting of the number of days for your processing begins when you can submit them; follow up on the 15th.” It was not an assurance that we would get our visas on that date! And could we come up with the required documents at once!

All these times, we had been praying on this predicament, and had kept our trust in God. So much faith was really needed and I thank the Lord for supplying it. As hasn’t He many assurances in His Word (the Bible) that we just have to trust in Him? I held on to His promises, and was so sure and at peace, “The Lord is with us, He will help.” This was what kept me – and the family.
